Nomadic Wellness

2019 Focus

Chelsey Moore is returning to the local hospital in Santa Barbara, Honduras.  Nomadic Wellness is finding most diseases affecting Hondurans are entirely preventable.  Yet, lack of resources have created a culture of sustained, poor quality of life.  Proper health care is directly related to one’s income level and in Honduras 62.8% of the population live in poverty.  Nomadic Wellness is proud to serve these gentle, appreciative citizens.

Chelsey's extended mission work takes place at the orphanage, Hogar de Niños, where 60 children live under the supervision of 6 adults. Many have struggled with mental, physical and sexual abuse as well abandonment and the resulting battle daily with these obstacles of life. We provide guidance, understanding and love while enhancing the lives of the children, providing the best chance possible path to some successes.

Nomadic Wellness providers are planning a trip to Cusco, in Southern Peru, in late 2019. Cuzco, dating back to the Incas, is the oldest-known city in the Americas.  Southern Peru is known to have a high incidence of malaria and yellow fever, along with a prevalence of gastrointestinal problems due to water-borne parasites.    The group focus will be general, yet Nomadic Wellness will focus on treatment of parasite-stricken citizens and teach them how to adequately treat drinking water.  Current fundraising will be toward purchase of individual water filtration devices for these indigenous peoples.  Chelsey believes clean water will clear up many diseases which persist.
